Katherine Burns has an eclectic employment background; the common thread has always been addressing the issues faced by mankind through human service endeavors.
Ms. Burns is the Coordinator for the Jacksonville Reentry Center (Portal of Entry) for the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. She is the chair of the Jacksonville Area Discharge Enhancement Committee.
She spent three years as the Central Florida Regional Coordinator for Prison Fellowship; one year as the staff coordinator of the Local Prison Reentry Committee for former Governor Jeb Bush’s Ex-Offender Taskforce and managed the Serious and Violent Offender Reentry Initiative for the Florida Department of Corrections.
She has managed Senior Centers and been an Executive Director of a United Way.
She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Springfield College.
Ms. Burns has been married for forty one years, is the mother of five and has 10 grandchildren.
